Cold War era Contest: XM935 Experimental Bullpup by Shockwave9001 Cold War era Contest: XM935 Experimental Bullpup by Shockwave9001
I am SO glad how this turned out! At first I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, because it has been ages since I've built anything different from a recreation or for Quicksilver. So entering the Cold War era contest was quite the challenge for me.

It contains bits and pieces of the FAMAS Félin, the SA80 prototype, EM-2 and Vz.58.
The code is 1.15MB in size. Without the wood grain, it's 127kb.

I hope you like it!

Yours truly,
~ Shockwave

You're welcome. I could easily see this as an assault rifle that was meant for Call of Duty: Black Ops but cut from the game at the last minute.

I'm really loving this weapon. I love the wooden handles that are used. I love this old relic bullpup. I wished it was real, lol.

Thanks :) The wood really adds character to it. It just didn't look very 80's with polymer grips.

I'm intrigued by the over barrel placement of the bayonet.

This just screams Cold War.. So clen, sleek, and that prototype-ish look.. and the wood is just marvelous! I understand fully why you didn't make the cheek rest wood - it looks much more balanced this way really.

Perfect work! I'd buy one.

You know I love this rifle but I keep noticing the bayonet, shouldn't it be attached to the flash hider instead of the barrel ?

You can screw the flash hider off, then place the bayonet. That's why it's behind it.

Though i personally think that the bayonet looks weird on top of the barrel, it still looks good overall.

You may be right about the placement, however, there was a huge vertical line from the barrel up to the front sight if the bayonet wasn't there. It was looking quite strange, so I left the bayonet on.

I loved the Cold War era firearms tech, and this personifies it very well. Fantastic job, Shockwave.

Dat wood grain  O_O
This is sexy, man.

I'd say a wooden cheekrest would make it balanced, but all dem shapes...

I actually tried that, but it just didn't look as good as this. Too much wood, how wrong that may sound :P

I dunno, I'm not sure there is such a thing.

Someone needs to get around to making an F2000 with a wood stock.

I rarely make more versions of the same gun.
I don't know why... Apparently I loose interest/motivation/inspiration after it's finished or something.

Nothing wrong with that, once you feel something is complete, its complete. Plus it spares us the m-4 weapon system versions from 1-99999999999999999999999 haha

Sweet
though the rifle i'm now working on
lends itself more to a post WW2 design than a Cold War Era

Though those look like some tough entries
